As part of its set of regular educational activities, A RODA, organized a film exhibition on the theme of Capoeira. On this occasion, the movie Mestre Bimba, a Capoeira Iluminada (a documentary inspired by Muniz Sodré’s book, Mestre Bimba - Corpo de Mandinga) was shown at the Academy.  
Through testimonies from former students and images that were unpublished in cinema at the time, the film tells the story of Mestre Bimba, Manuel dos Reis Machado (1899 - 1974), who devoted his life to giving dignity and light to capoeira. The documentary’s purpose was to help the children acquire an understanding of Mestre Bimba’s life goal, and learn about the origins of capoeira and the life of Capoeira Regional’s creator. After the movie, we finished the activity with a snack.
